What if we thought of technological systems more in terms of an ecology and eco-system?
I fabricated discarded USB drives into planters. The drives contained a program I wrote (with Processing) that would grow a virtual plant on a computer desktop depending on the strength of a Wifi signal. The more robust the Wifi signal, the healthier the plant.
I wanted to think of ways the natural world could integrate and intervene into man-made systems.
The plant_drives were distributed to NADA NYC art fair attendees through Rhizome's micro-Internet Yami Ichi.
Using the drives, they could the plant the software I wrote in their computer.
